Garlic Sauce
Never store-bought again
If you make your own Garlic Sauce once, you’ll never go back to store-bought.
Not only does it taste much better, but it’s also ready in just a few minutes. Plus, you can adjust it completely to your own taste. This sauce is not only delicious with homemade Chicken Shawarma Pita or falafel, but also perfect as a dip at a BBQ or as an addition to salads and sandwiches.
Just a few ingredients
The great thing about making your own Garlic Sauce is that you only need a few simple ingredients. The base usually consists of mayonnaise, Greek yogurt, or a combination of both, depending on how creamy you want it.
Garlic is of course the star of the sauce, but lemon juice, salt, and pepper also help balance the flavors. We even make the sauce a little sweeter by adding a teaspoon of honey to soften the sharp taste of the garlic. Want to give the sauce an extra kick? Add a pinch of cayenne pepper for some heat.
A healthier choice
Making your own Garlic Sauce is not only tastier, but also healthier. Many store-bought versions contain a good amount of sugar, preservatives, or other additives that you can avoid by making it yourself. Using Greek yogurt, for example, adds some extra protein and makes the sauce less heavy than using mayonnaise alone. That way, you can enjoy your homemade sauce without worrying about the unwanted ingredients often found in store-bought versions.
