Honestly, I don’t remember it being any different than eating Indonesian food at least twice a week. Sunday was always Indonesian food day in our house. Sometimes we had the leftovers on Monday, and during the week there was usually at least one more Indonesian meal as well. That’s almost inevitable when you grow up in an Indonesian family.
My mother learned all the ins and outs of Indonesian cooking from my grandmother and aunts, and in turn I learned them from her. Many of the Indonesian recipes you’ll find here come straight from our family kitchen.
